Lourdes Crew is the only Catholic and private school rowing team in the Mid-Hudson Valley, rowing out of the Hudson River Rowing Association (HRRA) boathouse in Poughkeepsie, NY.

Lourdes Rowing Association (LRA) is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization.

Novice TEAM

This is where you will begin if you have no previous rowing experience. Novices will learn rowing techniques using rowing machines and indoor water tanks prior to going on the water, participate in a local regatta, and possibly some away regattas. All students of OLL in grades 9-12 are welcome.

JV/Varsity Boys & girls Team

Boys and girls rowing JV/Varsity are returning rowers, who have completed a novice year of rowing and may have rowed in the summer and/or fall seasons with HRRA. They each have their own teams. It is expected that JV/Varsity rowers participate in winter training at the boathouse or OLL. JV/Varsity crews will participate in local and away regattas each spring.

Novice Middle School Team

Newly formed novice team for 7th and 8th grade students competing as a club under Lourdes Rowing Association. Get introduced to the sport of rowing early! We currently have students from St. Martin de Porres School, Holy Trinity, and St. Mary in Fishkill.

A brief history

Poughkeepsie, New York located on the Hudson River has a long and rich history of the great sport of rowing. Yet, prior to 1998, Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic High School did not have a rowing team. Finally, an enthusiastic and dedicated group of parents and students who wanted to row for their school founded the Lourdes Rowing Association in order to fund and promote the newly created team, Lourdes Crew.

From that point on, dedicated young men and women of Our Lady of Lourdes have competed in local, regional, and state regattas each spring season—at times even at nationals.
